Eeaser - accelerating industrial energy efficiency

Problem Statement

Worldwide there are several millions of industrial companies, particularly SMEs, which lack the capacities to identify and implement feasible energy efficiency measures. Accordingly, large amounts of CO2 are unnecessarily emitted while the companies at the same time lose money. The common approach to energy efficiency in industry is energy auditing yet there are far too few qualified energy auditors, particularly in emerging markets. Accordingly, numerous companies will continue to operate inefficiently, causing excessive CO2 emissions while losing money.

Which do you think are the innovative factors of your idea?

Our vision is that every single company has access to the knowhow for industrial energy efficiency. Accordingly, we design the eeaser solutions to be adopted by hundreds of thousands of companies around the world. To reach that end we built on three key innovative aspects:
Scalability: Our IT systems are designed to for easy scaling.
Useability: Identifying energy efficiency opportunities must be easy for technical and non-technical decision makers.
Customer focus: Companies differ in their energy efficiency transformation. For numerous companies in emerging markets, it is still a new topic. Accordingly, we built a solution which companies at each level can use – regardless of the extent to which the factory is already digitalized.
Innovative business models: We take innovative approaches to make our services accessible for every company. Identified energy saving opportunities are for example also of interest to solution providers or companies generating carbon credits.

Which benefits would your idea bring to the industry?

Lower CO2 emissions by a massive acceleration of energy efficiency in industry.
Lower production costs by reduced energy costs.
Demand boost for other innovative clean tech solutions.

To which challenges does your idea provide a solution to?

We contribute to the achievement of 5 SDGs.
SDG 7 “Affordable and clean energy”. We lower energy costs by lowering energy demand.
SDG 8 “Decent work and economic growth”. We boost competitiveness of SMEs around the world by lowering their energy costs.
SDG 9 “Industry, innovation and infrastructure”. We contribute to the industrial transformation by identifying feasible energy efficiency opportunities.
SDG 12 “Responsible consumption and production”. We contribute to greener supply chains by identifying feasible energy efficiency opportunities.
SDG 13 “Climate action”. We contribute to reduce CO2 emissions by identifying feasible energy efficiency opportunities.
